The Murco brand was established in 1960 and since then it has grown to become a familiar forecourt name throughout the UK. Over the past 55 years, the brand’s recognition has grown hugely with consumers and from strength to strength with dealers despite fundamental changes in the UK forecourt market.
On 1 October 2014, the Murco retail business was sold by Murco Petroleum to the fast growing, independent forecourt operator Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the number two independent fuel retailer in the UK.
After the initial months of integrating the Murco brand and the dealer team into MFG, it was decided that the strength of the brand together with the demands of the dealer market, required not only an exciting new Murco look but also a completely new supply and support structure.
In June 2016 Murco’s new look combined with a great new fuel supply offer was introduced to dealers. MFG intends to grow its dealer business by developing and strengthening a very flexible dealer offer while at the same time, building on the great service and delivery standards that Murco has always been known for.
